I don’t think I have ever been left as emotionally wrecked at the end of a book, as I am right now. This was so beautifully tragic, that I don’t even know how to fully process or describe what I just experienced. All I truly know is, this is one of those books that will forever be engrained in my soul. I honestly did not see the ending coming.
Christian Reeves is undeniably a product of his past trauma, as well as the people in his life who failed him in the years following. He is morally PITCH BLACK, and there is not a single thing anyone can do about it.
Elena, sweet, doe eyed, Elena. Nothing could have prepared her, or me, for how quickly her entire life would derail and how much she would go through. My heart was so heavy at times over everything she goes through.
This is one book I one million percent recommend on audio. Joe Arden gave the performance of his lifetime bringing Christian to life. Lee Daniels was incredible, really making the listener feel everything that Elena went through. This was one of, if not the best, audiobook I have ever listened to.
Ariel Anderson, even though this completely broke me, thank you for this. The way you were able to turn your own personal tragedy into such a beautiful work of art is inspiring, and I am so grateful that you are here and were able to tell this story.
