Girl fell in love with her brother's best friend.
They date. She asks "for a break". He understands that they are broken up. And makes out with someone else.
Girl gets pissed and holds a grudge. Boy doesn't understand why she's so mad.

Jump ahead 7 years.

Boy needs girl's help. Girl needs boy's help. While they work together sparks fly and they FINALLY address their issues.

That was the first third of the book. And it drove me insane. INSANE. I strongly disliked Piper (our main female lead) and thought Sam was fine.

And then the book shifted and it became more about where they are and not stuck in the past.

That said - Piper still annoyed me. She kept holding Sam accountable for things when she didn't talk to him; share her thoughts or be forthright. She figured it out in the end - but it was rough getting there.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars -- willing to try another of Livy Hart's books - but this just wasn't love at first sight.
