 This amazing little book of nonfiction is a clarion call of what can happen if we all work together to address the challenges facing our communities today. Melinda French Gates talks about her work at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through storytelling. The individual lives and collective voices that are raised up through addressing inequality, lack of resources, respect, and representation. There are some tough chapters here. More than once I had to put the book down and work on something else for a while. But the truth hurts and it is necessary— especially in today’s US political climate— to hear what must happen to overcome the idiocy running rampant at the moment. Take a deep breath, dive in, and feel like there is still hope in the world.
