Depths of Desire by Hayden Hall
4.0
"Love was a luxury I couldn’t afford. Happiness was a distraction I didn’t deserve."
To say I was blown away by Lennox and Oliver would be putting it mildly.
There isn't enough to explain these two but I will keep it short and sweet.
Two jocks.
One who glides on the surface and one who goes with the flow in its depths.
Hockey Player and Swimmer.
You would never think it would work but these two somehow did.
A chance drive back home turns into something neither saw coming but it would change everything for both of them.
First off, the swimming mentality was spot on! The focus that goes into competing in that sport is grueling but can be rewarding as well at the end of the day. Of course hockey is here too but to me this was more about Oliver.
Their story is full of what could've been and what could be but it's supposed to be just casual, or so they say. The struggles that Oliver goes through were gut wrenching, that possibility is always there. Add in Lennox and it all becomes clear to him, but for Lennox he didn't see it that way.
DoD has the perfect amount of swoon and a touch of angst that makes this one so good. I did not want to put it down and I didn't want it to end.
The support that Hayden is able to portray in his books is one of happiness for all involved in one way or another which is why I love them. Yeah it gets bumpy
