4.0

Mmm like 4.3/5 for what it was. Honestly in the context of a dark romance I really liked it. I love when the FMC is like psycho too tbh so Lyra was a fun character. I feel you can really FEEL their connection. And I loved seeing Thatcher start to break, and the little moments where his “humanity” would show and how she’d break all his harsh routines. Also the plot itself is pretty interesting but could’ve been made slightly clearer. But excited to read the next book but hope it doesn’t drag on. I wish to see thatcher have a crying mental breakdown over Lyra that’s my goal

Spoiler summary:
Lyra is 8 years old when she watches her mom get murdered by Henry Pierson as she hides in the closet. His son Thatcher was supposed to kill Lyra, and as he’s left alone with her mom’s body, Lyra throws a shoe at him and exposes her hiding spot. He quickly shuts her up and tells her to hide in the closet or else Henry will kill her too. Henry has formed Thatcher into thinking he’s a psychopath with no emotion and taught him how to be a killer. Lyra went to the police and put Henry in jail. Since then, Lyra has been obsessed with Thatcher and stalking him because she views him as her Angel. He loathes her cuz she’s the only one that makes him feel emotion of any sort. She tries to convince him to help her with her urges to murder and how to, but he calls it off cuz he’s getting too humane around her. They’re trying to take down a sex ring called the Halo, so it ends with Thatcher being threatened, and Lyra seeing someone being carried out on a gurney with a sheet coming out of his house… cliffhanger (I think it’s his grandma since it’s obvi not thatcher)
