Promise the Moon by Hailey Edwards

2.5 stars

The story jumps forward a number of years and it wasn't smooth enough to stop me from wondering if I'd missed a book in between. Also, Edwards chose to advance a previously secondary character to become the MC in this next arc. I never felt particularly attached to this secondary character and I can't say that I'm feeling any differently now.

There were the obligatory self flagellation scenes that get old very quickly, although not too many. There's a love triangle blossoming and that's always fun (not). And the primary romance, which was just budding in the last book, was advanced enough to have failed with the schmuck that left now back trying to squirm his way back in.

Finally, it was a non-ending. Not a true cliff hanger, just a thorough 'tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel" sort of sneak peek.

Not my favorite in the series.
