Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.

 i wanted to like this book because everything about it, in theory, is right up my alley, but unfortunately i couldn't find myself connecting with the story or its characters. i pushed through hoping that later on i would start to enjoy it more, but so far no luck. so, i'm giving up
