I don't know why so many think this was written in a lighthearted and funny way but it definitely wasn't... pretty heavy and depressing story but with the hope of betterment near the end. I had to get used to the writing style which I normally don't like (very short sentences in a row) but I understand it was used as an artistic style and a method of her showing how detached from reality she was in certain situations. At first I had to get over my anger against her mother and how much I despise people like her but after reading more realising that her mother wasn't mentally well to begin with which caused her narcissistic and manipulative behaviour towards her daughter.
