The Magnus Archives: Season 2 by NOT A BOOK, NOT A BOOK

5.0

I'm hiding all of this under a spoiler just so I can rave and rant to my fangirl heart's content.

Well, this second season was just as great as the first! I loved witnessing Jonathan's spiral into paranoia, ultimately justified as it was despite his occasional over-the-top actions. His coworkers' reactions to it felt genuine too. I've also discovered several characters that I absolutely hate (mostly Daisy, but also Tim surprisingly), to the point where I honestly can't wait for them to die. And that ending...!! It was definitely as dramatic as the first season's, and just as creepy. I rather like that Jonathan made that huge mistake with the table. It was stupid, yes, and not a particularly well-informed decision, but this whole season seems Jonathan seems to be making decisions / possible mistakes that are fuelled by his paranoia and desperation, so all of it culminating in something that has actually deadly consequences feels fitting to me.
