I Am Ozzy
by Ozzy Osbourne
dark
emotional
funny
reflective
fast-paced
i picked this book up while on vacation last year and with Ozzy's recent death it drew me to it from my "to read" list. I am a lover of all things Ozzy and the Osbournes (they're kinda like my British fixation instead of the royals) so I may be partial. I loved the behind the scenes stories you don't always hear. In other words, it wasn't just about the bat, the doves, and the Alamo. The greatest part was the format/language style. It was basically just like sitting down and having Ozzy tell you a story. Keep in mind this is not for the faint of heart. It is Ozzy so his language is awful and crude at times but I would hope anyone picking this up would already expect that. Also, there are a LOT of heavy topics (detailed drug and alcohol use, abuse of Sharon by her father/Ozzy's attempt to strangle Sharon, the plan crash that killed Randy Rhoads- basically sex, drugs, and rock & roll). Obviously, nothing is glorified and it's honestly quite reflective in the end. If you're into Ozzy even a little bit or just like musical documentaries/memoirs, give it a read. I'm sure you'll find something to like.
