The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
4.0

I'm impressed with this. They took a 1,000 page book and got the meat and bones of the story into 100 pages with pictures. It works very well. I enjoyed the art. The story was faithful to the original. The count did not seem as haughty here as in the story. He was a wordy blow hard in the book.

Either a great introduction to the story, or a quick way to read the story once again in a hour or so. I do like this story. It's about time. It reminds me of the scene in the Shawshank Redemption where Andy is talking about all it takes is time and how he carried his wall out. Count Monte Cristo suffered for a decade and then laid out plans that took another decade before he could get happiness. In todays world where we have instant gratification, it's hard to think of waiting 20 years for something.
