On Earth as It Is on Television
by Emily Jane
The plot lacked any real througline or sense of tension and I found the prose a bit hard to parse at times, especially in the beginning. Too many POVs. Also I feel like the darker topics included (abuse in particular) weren't really treated all that seriously?
I thought the aliens were whimsical and fun, and I liked the husband, Blaine and his genial, science-y self.
