Sometimes toddlers want to read a book and turn the pages but don't want to sit still very long. A combination that I find leads me to reading half a sentence on each page before the little one jumps up and runs off - not very satisfying for me. Ship has just 2 words per page! I can read all 4 words on the spread before the speedy page turner has time to flip! It's the little things that can make the difference in the life of a parent.
The rhyming story is nice, making the most of the intentionally choppy rhythm and the bold illustrations make me think of wood cuts with their bold geometric lines.
