White Gold Wielder by Stephen R. Donaldson
5.0

After The One Tree, it's great to see us back on task, and in the strongest parts of the world of the Land.

The Land is - believe it or not - even worse off than when we last saw it. Blood sacrifices have killed just about everyone.

The character growth and interaction here is some of the strongest so far. Everything feels like it's coming to a natural conclusion, but the despair both Covenant and Linden feel gets in the way. The world is as well-written as ever.

If you read through The One Tree and felt unsatisfied, rest assured that this book makes it worthwhile.
