This being my first venture into motorcycle club books I feel like it was a good introduction, a good dipping your toe in book. You got the vibes of what they do and who they are but as it is a YA book it’s like the light version. I really liked how they were all like a family, I got your back you got mine. That was probably my favorite aspect.
It did feel a tad insta lovey with the main characters. I believe Emily was only with them for two weeks and they were confessing their love?? Make it two months and I might believe it.
I enjoyed the mystery of why her mom had left Kentucky and never went back. Emily had only been told that her parents kicked her out and her dad didn’t want them which the latter felt like bullshit right from the start. We’d had like one scene with her biological dad Eli and I could tell from how he talked about her that he deeply cared for her and felt right from that scene that there was a reason he stayed away. I didn’t expect her to be as connected as she was though.
