"Just one day" is so cute, and everyone should give it a try. I've also read "If I stay", but I think this one is much better. I started the book thinking it would only describe the day that Allyson spent with Willem, and I got surprised (in a good way) when I found out it wouldn't be exactly like that (is that a spoiler??). The first part was cute, the second was funny. I loved (and when I say loved, I mean LOVED) Dee and Kelly and her friends were nice too. Melanie represents all that friends that we had that just got away, and I could relate to Allyson sooooo much (maybe that's why I loved the book). I also thought that the book was all about the cheesy romance, and we have a bit of that too, but in fact, this book is about finding out who you are - I really liked how Allyson recovered, with her friends' help.
The only thing I didn't like was the end. It was an open end and I NEED ANSWERS!! I want to know what happened to Willem that day, who the other girl was, if Allyson meets Céline or Wren again, what happens next between Willem and Allyson, what happens when Allyson gets back to Boston ... oh well, guess that I have to wait until I pick up the next book!!
