Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family
by Omid Scobie, Carolyn Durand
I normally love biographies and historical books but I wasn’t convinced by the tone and writing of this book. Given how the tabloids depicted the Sussexes in the last two years, I understand why the authors went for a super-flattering tone with this book, in an attempt to somehow balance the scales.
However, I believe the good the Sussexes have done so far didn’t need such a pompous writing style to be showcased.
If you want to learn more about the Sussexes, I’d recommend it (although the flattery is really too much at times) but beware the writing is not good and makes the read more difficult than it should be. If you listen to the audiobook, increase the reading speed: having done so, I still learnt a lot about them, without having to endure the writing for the full 10 and a half hours.
