A quick, enjoyable fantasy/science fiction story that is just as fun for grown ups and independent readers. Explores gender and expectations through a multiverse without being overbearing or heavy-handed... I would have loved to read this book when I was the age of the protagonists, as it likely would have given me more language to understand myself back in the early aughts. Worth the read for the found-family and charming personalities alone, with a dash of fun multiverses and time wobbliness.
