I was worried where the book was going re: transgender character, but they let her explain who she was and kept the female pronouns throughout the narration. It's such crap that she had to die while Deborah and Zed are still alive, and they 100% ruined her life. I think I'll just stick to the TV show, 600+ pages is just too much for a murder mystery that wasn't actually a murder mystery. I think if they had taken out the Isabelle-Lynley, Vivienne, and Zed storylines, I would have enjoyed the book a whole bunch more.
