hmmm, somewhat patchy at times there were still enough flashes of caustic wit to keep me entertained. whenever an author casts themselves within their work they will inevitably suffer comparison with Auster in my head and I have to admit that Houllebecq fares well.
Overall an amusing and thought provoking
