Same Time Next Year by Tessa Bailey

4.0

As someone who knows nothing about US and Canadian politics and law, I actually really enjoyed this book. It had some of my favourite tropes: marriage of convenience, brothers and friends, obsessed mmc, and of course 'my wife’. This is everything I want in a novella!! Every chapter was perfect, had the right amount of story and description, and wasn't bothered with unimportant information. For such a short book, I found that the story was actually written quite well, and nothing was left out. I will say that I normally find that the smut in novellas tends to overpower the rest of the book, and I tend to struggle to finish, but Same Time Next Year was perfectly balanced. Obviously, for some, the reason for the low ratings has been Tessa’s lack of research. However, I’m still very hopeful and equally excited to read Tessa Bailey's upcoming sports romances.

“Forget going pro; this is the greatest accomplishment of my life.”
