Do Not Disturb by Freida McFadden
2.75
dark mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Freida McFadden was watching a lot of Hitchcock films when she wrote 'Do Not Disturb'. There is a mish mash of Psycho with Rear Window. It's OK, a middle of the road quick mystery read which I read in an afternoon.
This one would have been a 3 star but loses 0.25 of a star as McFadden has an abusive husband trope and she desperately needs to find a new one. The husband is always very very handsome, looks good in a suit, is rich and is some kind of CEO or business owner, his mother never likes his wife, he always orders her food on the first date as it is some fancy restaurant where she can't understand the menu, he makes her die her hair blonde, controls what she eats, makes her clean the house to his standard, punishes her, etc, etc, etc....yawn! Oh and all the ex-boyfriends from high school who were cute, skinny and dorky have all lost freckles and 'fill their shirt out nicely'...need some new descriptions.
