The Empath's Survival Guide: Life Strategies for Sensitive People by Judith Orloff

2.0

This book has some good tips. I did find myself relating to several of the topics mentioned in this book and feel like I have some empathetic tendencies for sure. That said, there was a lot of moments where it was less scientific/self-help focused and more new age. I also had the sense the whole time that if you did not agree with the author on something, you were thought of as "wrong" which really made it hard for me to stomach some of the advice. A good introduction to people who haven't had any introduction to empathy before, but I feel there are likely better books out there for those of a more scientific background to understand and deal with their empathy.
