Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes
5.0

Chrysanthemum is unlike the other students in her class. They all have "normal" names, and the other students giggled and make Chrysanthemum feel bad about her unique name. All before starting school she loved her name, but her classmates make her question that identity she has developed. Fortunately, in the end Chrysanthemum realizes that she is in fact amazing and her name is perfect. A perfect anti-bullying book for younger students. Students could work on persuasive writing; why their names are perfect for them.
