The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
4.0
“He was a book, and he was holding his final pages, and he wanted to get to the end to find out how it went, and he didn't want it to be over.”
Well, that was incredibly satisfying.
The Raven King marks the end of an exceptional series, and I am both sad and happy to finish this book. I truly believe this final book is significant proof of Maggie Stiefvater’s consistency- in her characters, plot, and writing in general. I had to clear my schedule completely before reading this book because I had an inkling I wouldn’t be able to quit at a certain chapter, and I was right. Four hours in and 439 pages devoured- I had laughed, cried, felt a sense of devastation, exhaustion, and deep enjoyment all the while remaining in the same spot in my room. I had never spent a day so productively and I love it! This book was such a wonderful ride- gorgeously breathtaking, absolutely magical and incredibly playful, it definitely holds a special place in my dead and dark heart.
PS.
Mom: Why are you crying?
Me: Because Noah
