Since this is a sequel to Crier's War, it starts off really quickly but also not. I really really love the queen and she
has such a giant reveal towards the end of the book.
Ayla and Crier have to come to terms with what they feel for each other but it is still kind of slow adding up. I understand a little bit more why and it's because they are minors and the author made a good choice in not hyper sexualizing them.
