I’m not familiar with Buffy or The Lost Boys so neither of those pop culture references deterred me from reading this. I went into this totally blind, not sure what to expect. Some of the characters I enjoyed such as Nonna but some of the plot points & dialogue were a little predictable. This was a little bit original and stayed true ish to most vampire lore but I didn’t fully understand the purpose of the multitude of female characters - Erica, Anne-Marie, Beatrice and Minnow. I feel like if the characters had been reduced, this might have turned out better. Another round of editing / maybe cut off 50-100 pages could have helped improve this.
