Zeitoun by Dave Eggers

This was a great book. I had been avoiding it because the description just made it seem like taking medicine: something I knew was good for me, but couldn't get excited about. However, this book about a Syrian Muslim American and his family as he stays in New Orleans through Hurricane Katrina is riveting. Also, it doesn't seem often mentioned but what Eggers is doing for journalism is fascinating. From the oral storytelling, eye witness accounts, to his involvement in the Panarama newspaper, he's helping all of us find a new way forward for journalism.
