Dragons of Spring Dawning by Margaret Weis

3.0

Finally done with this. I didn't like this volume as much as the last two. In the second I at least was interested in Laurana's coming to power. In this one she makes just the dumbest mistake. Raistlin coming into his was mildly interesting but I just feel such pity for Caramon because he's just so damn needy. And for Tika because she's in love with the dumb oaf. Kitiara is all over the place (I love you Tanis, rule with me, jk I could kill you and never shed a tear, but no really come be my king, love is for morons). Goldmoon and Riverwind really take a backseat. Tas is still the best.

Overall it's like my cousin (who introduced me to the series) said recently: it was a good entry into fantasy but having read much better stuff since, it doesn't do it for me like it used to. I have enjoyed live-tweeting the trilogy but better TBR that I haven't read previously impatiently awaits.
