As with every book by Silas House that I read, I’m both grateful for the pages and disappointed that there are not more of them. I think because he’s such a great story teller, I could maybe just ‘listen’ to him tell his words, his friends, his worlds forever on end. Lark Ascending is merely the latest in an ever-growing collection of wonderful books to experience. And, while this one is terrifying in its makeup, not least of which because it seems as though it’s moments away from reality, it’s still a beautiful story full of hope. But, damn you Silas for putting Seamus in this one, but thank you also because it made me hug my dog that much closer. We don’t deserve them, but we are grateful for their love and friendship.
