IT IS FINISHED.
I am Jesus Christ and this series was my cross to bear. Every quarter of this book, there was a BEAUTIFUL 5 pages or so of genuinely good introspection and poetic notions of sacrifice and pride and fear, only for the rest of it to be so incredibly meh that it took a full week of boredom at work to finish it.
Anyways, I’m sure this would’ve been great if I was 14, so hip hip hooray for average young adult fiction that’s probably found in a 2015 middle school library and is one particular student’s comfort series, so much so that the librarian lets them take it with them when they graduate.
