No words…. Just WOW
I absolutely loved this book, the pacing, the action scenes (the trails were so imaginative) & the relationships were written to perfection.
I especially loved the dynamic between the FMC & her vampire father - showing how complex that can be when a family member is inherently a bad person - but loves you & will do anything for you.
The FMC & mmc character felt like a reverse grumpy sunshine which I adore. Their relationship development was beautiful - I would call it medium burn, not slow burn - but I didn’t mind because the spice was ❤️🔥🙌🏽
I had lots of questions throughout & felt myself getting a little confused with the different vampire houses etc. they all seemed so similar & to have 3 different names? so even at 50% into the book I was still looking at the glossary trying to figure it out - which detracted a little for me - but I do love the world & lore created. Maybe it was the world building that confused me? Something about it felt a bit staccato at times.
But other than that I found a lot of the prose throughout the story beautiful… especially when it was between the two MC’s and dealing with their past etc - some poignant words that really hit home.
The final 100 pages were brilliant, the lead up to the final battle, the battle itself & then the fall out from all the betrayals & twists were done so well! I had so many questions & theories & none of them were spot on! Which I absolutely loved!!
It definitely kept me guessing & now I’m very excited for b2!
