A very compelling retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story with a Russian twist to it. Although everybody knows the story, it was very interesting to read about a Beauty that is not your "usual" Bauty in a setting that is not France. I liked it very much and it had me glued to the pages for two days straight. It was also an interesting experience because it draws from your classic storytelling tropes. I've never been one for fairy tales, not even when I was little, but it goes so well with the setting of this book that I can't complain about it.

My only "but" for this book is that, because it's very stereotypical in the way it tells the story and is very fairy tale-y, the main charachters are not as well developed as I wished they were. Still, I liked them a lot and I enjoyed watching this world from the point of view of Yeva and the Beast.

If you enjoy fantasy, retellings, fairy tales, a strong heroine and Beauty and the Beast, I would totally recommend you read this.
