Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution
by Michelle Moran
This is one of the best historical fiction novels set in the French Revolution that I've read. I knew nothing of Marie Tussaud, and it turns out she is a fascinating person who had connections to many of the players on either side of the Revolution. Moran's book is fast-paced and she describes the horrible events of the Reign of Terror vividly.
I'd never been interested in wax museums, but I'm definitely going to visit Madame Tussauds next time I'm London as a result of reading this book.
