This was my first time reading The Giver, and I get the hype. This book made me feel all the things, and I don’t know how y’all expect me to just recover.
I never got a chance to read this as a kid because it was never assigned to me in school, but I kind of wish it was now. Like, I love an old dystopian novel. Brand New World and Handmaid’s Tale were my jam in school and college. I just love seeing their nightmare scenarios.
But, this book? I cried. I’m still crying. This made me feel big feelings, and I just loved it. It was so good, and it is definitely one of my new favorite classics. I adore it. ♥️
