I am sure that there are reasons to read this book all the way to the end. I do not know what those reasons are. As far as I am concerned torture porn is not a good reason to write and a worse reason to continue reading a book. Scifi Noir does not need to be gross. I'm glad some folks like it. Some folks also like spiders as pets. I am not one of those people. I quit about 1/3 of the way through. Life is too short to read gross books.
