Return to Camp Solgohachia is the second book in The Raven Hill Butcher series by Nasser Rabadi. Set in the 1980s, we follow a group of kids heading back to summer camp where the food is bad but the company is worth it. The urban fantasy of the Raven Hill Butcher has been around for a long time and it is said that even speaking his name will bring him back. At the edge of the Camp is a cabin that is said to have been the Raven Hill Butchers’ and is off-limits. If just speaking his name could bring him back, what would happen if you touched the cabin?
The writing style and world-building create such a spooky atmosphere and take you right to the woods of Camp Solgohachia! Having worked at summer camps on and off for 20 years, this was a nostalgic read although with a backdrop of an 80’s slasher movie, not that was an experience I ever had—a quick and easy read.
