A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson

4.0

I liked this book - but I liked Big and Liza's chapters significantly more than I liked Mosey's, and that's why it doesn't get 5 stars from me. With Mosey it seems like Jackson is trying too hard to create the perfectly quirky teenage narrator - which is a shame, since Mosey has a lot going for her. Roger and Patti are excellent, and worth reading Mosey's narration a little more thoroughly. The payoff to the big mystery of the book is also definitely worth the read, as every time I thought I was ahead of it, I wasn't really.
