Ebbing Tides by Kelsey Kingsley
5.0

If you haven't read Crashing Waves, go do it now. While I think you can read this book without the first, you will definitely have a better experience if you read book 1 first. If book 1 broke Max Tailor, book 2 put him back together.

Max Tailor didn't have a picture-perfect childhood and his journey through adulthood hasn't fared much better. He has faced every hardship, heartbreak, loneliness, and punishment both literally and figuratively. He found out some truths that both made him grieve and set him free.

"I was afraid I didn't know how to love someone properly. Because...because nobody ever loved me."

While Max had a second, serendipitous second chance at a happily ever after, he didn't regret the things and people that had come first or the experiences he had because they were all lessons and blessings. Plus, life wouldn't have turned out the way it did.

"This undeniable certainty that all we'd ever gone through was all meant to lead us back to each other, to a time when there was nothing left to do than simply be."

I have loved every book this author has written. With each release it just gets better and better. I sobbed through most of this book, and by the end they were happy tears.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
