It's super weird to listen to someone talk about 'the pandemic' and not think about OUR pandemic as 'the' one. I learnt a lot from this about diseases that I guess I was complacent about - measles seems like such a basic thing to understand but of course it was once new and completely unknown. I had never previously given that much attention to the fact that Rome was built on marshland.
