I’m sobbing for the FINAL TIME IN THE WINDY CITY! I can’t believe we are at the last book of the series and the final member of the friend group. I love how in love all the men in these books are so obsessed with their women, but Rio’s sheer astonishment at all of Hallie’s talents and skills is truly earth-shattering. He is so impressed by her and her abilities and it just made me love her and him and this book even more. His relationship with the women in his friend group is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. They all care so deeply about each other and I think this book is where we got the most with the ENTIRE friend group which I was SO THANKFUL for.  I know it was a slight time-jumpy book, but if there were going to be time jumps, I wish there were just a little more. We caught up with them once a year, I just wish we got to see just a little more. One thing I felt was missing from this book was how playful Rio is. In the rest of the series he is a bumbling fool, and when he is around Hallie he is suddenly Mr. Smooth, which is a nice contrast. I just feel like I missed his personality a little bit compared to the other books. I still loved this book and I think it wrapped up the Windy City series so well! Having all the friend group happy and in love is so satisfying and I think it was a beautiful ending. I am SOBBING at the fact that this series is over, but I can’t wait to pick up ANYTHING Liz Tomforde writes from now until the end of time!
