I enjoyed both books. The first book was exactly like the movie, but offered some “bonus” details that related to the sequel. The bonus details were actions/descriptions that I wouldn’t have noticed from the movie and helped develop characters.
The sequel was pretty good. Sequels can be tough especially for Disney. The book appropriately continued the Denison’s “luck” with witches, without being too over the top. I wish there was more character development with Mary and Sarah. Mary did have her moment, but I wanted more. The ending was intriguing and I wonder if they will make this a trilogy.
