The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness
2.0

I was really disappointed with this book. The first two books in this trilogy were so wonderful but this book just fell flat. The characters moved around so much that it was hard to keep track of where they were and whether they had been there before, not to mention that there were just so many characters to keep track of. That by itself wouldn't have bothered me, but there were so many parts that were just so unbelievable. Now, I realize that it's a lot to ask for a book about vampires, witches, and daemons to be believable, but there were some things in this book that just made me say "come on, seriously?" I chalked it up to the author not wanting to get into lengthy philosophical discussions in the book that wouldn't really pertain to the plot, but then there were other things that moved so. slowly. I had really been looking forward to reading this and I'm glad I did because I hate leaving series unfinished, but I just really expected a lot more from this book and was let down.
