Madame Frankenstein by Jamie S. Rich

4.0

Very cool graphic novel with a reimagined telling of the Frankenstein monster with a twist. I also enjoyed the weaving of a variation of the Cottingley Fairy hoax into the narrative. The writing is snappy and the story moves at a great pace without ever feeling like it drags at any point. The story has enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and interested in what will happen next. The art is great as well with Ms. Levens’ linework perfect for telling the story and making the characters easily distinguishable from each other. I would have enjoyed some greytones or color to give the art a little more depth or texture as that is my personal preference. However, the stylistic choice works fine and does a great job of moving the narrative in a clear and concise manner.
