V for Vendetta by Alan Moore

5.0

A dark, twisted, atmospheric world nothing short of what you'd expect from Alan Moore. But it makes me even more horrified to realize that the fascist government warned about in this text is coming true in far too real ways today—more than 30 years after V for Vendetta was first conceived. I mourn for Britain and I mourn for the world, that we failed to hearken to the message of literature like this.
Since mankind's dawn, a handful of oppressors have accepted the responsibility over our lives that we should have accepted for ourselves. By doing so, they took our power. By doing nothing, we gave it away. We've seen where their way leads, through camps and wars, towards the slaughterhouse.
