The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O'Farrell
4.0
I really enjoyed this book. It gets some hate for being “overwrought”, but I’m someone who loves meandering/lush description and imagery and this book really hit the spot for me. I think it works because it’s coming from an artist’s perspective.
Her use of tropes and symbolism isn’t subtle, but I felt that it lent a fairytale-like element to the story which I honestly really liked.
