Innocence by Dean Koontz
5.0

The writing was a little strange at first. I was confused by the plot and the narrator of the story: a hermit who has to hide because for reasons unknown to him, and therefore unknown to readers, The very sight of him incites rage and hatred. The narrator's confusion contributed to my own, but I had read other stories by Koontz before so I decided to stick it out. Once the pace picked up, I began to appreciate the mystery infused throughout the story, especially by the end. It certainly isn't a breezy read, but then again I don't think Koontz has ever written a breezy story. "Innocence" is an engaging thought-provoking story that I really enjoyed.
