Review: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm kicking myself for not reading the prior books in this series, partially because the backstory would have been helpful, but also because how did I not know about this author?! Even so, there was so much about this particular book that I really loved as a standalone and I didn't get lost not knowing what had happened in prior books.

The biggie in this book for me was the health journey that Katie was on from the very start. As a woman who has also had to deal with chronic illness as well as difficulty being taken seriously by medical professionals, this story rang very true to me. In addition, the feelings brought up even by having a diagnosis were very relatable. We need to keep pushing as a society to have ourselves be heard when we know there's something wrong with our bodies. And the healthcare industry could benefit from making testing more accessible.

Outside of that, this was both a romance and a story about people who are reaching for their dreams and trying to find their purpose in life. Dallas and Katie were both strong characters on their own and I also loved their dynamic together.  The whole friend group was amazing and supportive and a unique bunch of people who you could tell were very connected. Very excited to read the rest of the books and learn more about them all.

This is an easy to read, friends to lovers romance, with some elements of figuring out your place in the world, strong friend groups, and a story about a health journey that I think will leave you very satisfied in the end!!
