Every time I pick up a classic, I am reminded why I don’t read classics. On the contrary, this book was okay once you get past the dense writing and confusing world-building. There were a lot of good quotes, and I found the author’s thoughts on politics and gender quite interesting. What I didn’t like was that the author throws you right into the story without really explaining anything, and it was difficult to tell whose POV it was since they don't really tell you. Reading this book involved a lot of guesswork. I also wish the characters were easier to connect with, as I felt like I didn’t know who anyone was for majority of the book. Overall, I think the execution of the story could have been better, but the message was solid, and I understand why people like this.
