Into the Water
by Paula Hawkins
I don't know if it was due to my brain being made of mashed potatoes or what, but I had a difficult time sorting out these characters. Jules was easy to remember because her thoughts and dialog are directed at her dead sister. Lena was also easily identified because she's a teenager, and Erin is a cop, but then we see a whole raft of other females all around the same age and halfway through the book I still had to stop and figure out who they were.
This is not to say it's a bad book, Hawkins is talented, but Into the Water doesn't have the clarity and flow of A Slow Fire Burning or The Girl on the Train.
